Barrett-Jackson Auction 2019

For those who love cars, new and used, Barrett-Jackson Auction is coming to Scottsdale Westworld from January 12 through 20th in what promises to be their largest car auction ever. Scottsdale is the birthplace of these auctions, known as The World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions®. These auctions include classic and antique car events in Scottsdale, Las Vegas, Palm Beach, and Uncasville, Connecticut.

Founded by Russ Jackson and Tom Barrett, they started by doing a couple of local shows in Scottsdale, including an auction in 1971 for two Mercedes-Benz 770K Phaetons which were used for Hitler’s staff. One of these sold for a record $153,200.

After the pair died, Craig Barrett, Russ Barrett’s son, took over the event and it gradually spread to other cities. Not limited to cars, last year’s Scottsdale auction even featured a full-size 1957 transportation-themed carousel manufactured by Wilhelm Hennecke of Germany for over half a million dollars. Last year’s event was also attended by former President George W. Bush, marking the first time a President participated in the event, which is always attended by a host of stars, celebrities, and other high-profile individuals, as well as approximately 325,000 regular admission attendees.
